It’s all about knowing which questions to ask and how to ask them. User research is the beacon that keeps designers focused on what will resonate best with your users. We believe products that consistently delight users only do so from a thorough understanding of who those users are.
ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS
First, we ask the right questions of ourselves. What do we want to know about our end users? What are best research activities to inform this particular strategy and/or design? What techniques and technologies will best aid our effort? Then we ask the right questions of our users. Through in-lab and field research, we gather both qualitative and quantitative data to gain the clearest possible picture of their needs and preferences. The time spent up front gaining a deep understanding of your audience ultimately shortens the time it takes to reach them in a meaningful way.
